The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Sunday’s Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Jaime Garcia (7-3, 1.79), St. Louis Cardinals

Garcia is only a rookie, but the Cardinals left-hander is a legit contender for the NL Cy Young award.

The most earned runs Garcia has surrendered in 17 starts this season is three – and that came in his most recent outing. Garcia didn’t walk a hitter and recorded four strikeouts in that 9-4 victory over Toronto.

“The whole game I felt like I was doing a pretty good job of keeping the ball down,” Garcia said.

All of the Royals’ lineup will be seeing Garcia for the first time Sunday and as indicated by his sub-2.00 ERA, opposing offenses have not fared well against the rookie in their first attempt.

John Danks (7-5, 3.23), Chicago White Sox

Now that the South Siders are starting to win, they may actually be able to put to use Danks’ stellar 2010 season.

The 6-1, 210-pound southpaw is the ace of the Sox staff and has gone 3-0 in his last three starts. Danks went at least seven innings in each of those outings and Chicago’s offense is finally providing him with some support – scoring nine and seven runs in his most recent starts.

Slumping

Jeremy Guthrie (3-9, 4.28), Baltimore Orioles

The O’s righty has lost five straight decisions, giving up four runs or more in all but one of those starts. Guthrie got hammered in his last outing, yielding six runs in 6.0 innings of work during a 10-4 loss to the Marlins.

“For some reason, Guthrie didn’t look right. He was missing his spots,” interim manager Juan Samuel said after Guthrie’s latest loss. “Couple pitches, some good hitters with two strikes on them, he hung some breaking balls and got hurt.”

Guthrie is 2-5 with a 4.50 ERA at home this season.

HOT LINES

Sunday's Best MLB Bets

Washington Nationals at Baltimore Orioles (-120, 9.5)

Whatever was said at lunch between Baltimore outfielder Nick Markakis and owner Peter Angelos on Thursday must have been the right thing. Since the meeting, the Orioles have won three straight games.

"I think it was up to the point now where it's no secret -- everyone knows what's going on around here," Markakis said. "I just felt (meeting him) was the right thing to do, get some answers here and there."

The O’s, who hold a major-league worst 22-52 record and rank third-to-last in runs, have plated 24 batters during their winning streak. The team overcame five- and six-run deficits in its last two victories – both against the Nationals.

"I think it's huge," catcher Matt Wieters said of the win. "No matter what we get down by, we're going to be able to swing and get our way back into it. I think it's a big boost."

The two wins against Washington snapped a string of 11 straight series losses for Baltimore.

"I think we can even play better baseball," Adam Jones said. "We will take it right now, (but) we've got to continue to improve as a team."

Don’t expect the Orioles to climb back into the AL East race, but they are worth a play while the offense is churning and confidence is high.

Pick: Baltimore Orioles

Houston Astros at Texas Rangers (-120, 9)

With ace Roy Oswalt on the verge of being dealt, the Astros have essentially announced they are in a rebuilding mode. Houston’s lineup on Saturday that featured four rookies confirmed it.

The ‘Stros trotted out four first-year position players – Jason Bourgeois in center field, Chris Johnson at third base, Jason Castro at catcher and Oswaldo Navarro at shortstop – that had combined for 33 big league at-bats. The quatrain went 2-for-14 with four strikeouts.

"We'll wait and see how everything works out," manager Brad Mills said.
Oswalt will be on the bump in Sunday’s game and every start from here until the All-Star break is basically an audition for a contending team. The heat index is projected to be 101 at its peak in Arlington Sunday and offenses usually struggle in the Texas heat.

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
Sunday's World Cup Look-A-Head Capsules

Capsules for Sunday's second-round matches at the World Cup (FIFA rankings in parentheses):

Germany-England

Germany won Group D, looking strong in its 4-0 win over Australia, then mediocre in a loss to Serbia and a win over Ghana. England was second to the United States in Group C with two draws and a 1-0 win over Slovenia.

Germany: The three-time champions get back their best scorer, Miroslav Klose, who was suspended for the Ghana match. But midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and defender Jerome Boateng are injured and might sit out.

England: Striker Wayne Rooney has yet to find the net - indeed, England has scored only two goals, by Steven Gerrard and Jermain Defoe. Goalkeeper David James has not yielded a goal since replacing Robert Green.

Notable Fact: Germany has not missed in a World Cup shootout since Uli Stielike's saved shot against France in 1982. England has consistently failed in shootouts at major tournaments, with two losses to Germany, two to Portugal and one to Argentina on spot kicks.

Argentina-Mexico

Argentina was one of two teams to win all three opening round games (the Netherlands also did it), and the Albiceleste took Group B. Mexico was the runner-up in Group A with a win, draw and loss.

Argentina: Although he has not scored, 2009 world player of the year Lionel Messi has been in the middle of much of Argentina's offense. Three of his shots wound up in rebounds that became goals for teammates.

Mexico: Forward Carlos Vela could be back from a right leg injury to play alongside Giovani Dos Santos, who has stood out at this World Cup with his speed and guile. The Mexicans need to be strong in the back to handle Messi.

Notable Fact: Argentina knocked out Mexico in the second round in 2006, with Maxi Rodriguez scoring one of the classiest goals of the entire World Cup in extra time for a 2-1 victory.

PICKS FOR KICKS

Sunday's Best World Cup Bets

Germany (+105) vs. England (+135, 2.5)

The animal kingdom has had its hand in handicapping some of sports' biggest events – be it the NHL playoffs or Super Bowl Sunday.

It seems the latest beast picking winners is a physic octopus named Paul. He’s correctly called all of Germany’s World Cup games so far and hit at an 80 percent rate during the team’s run at the 2008 European Championships, according to the Oberhausen Sea Life Aquarium.

Paul’s latest selection is a win for the Germans when they face classic rival England in Sunday’s Round of 16 knockout game. The cephalopod was baited with two mussels, one in a tank with the German flag and the other in a tank baring the Cross of St. George.

"Paul's prediction was phenomenal," said aquarium spokesman Tanja Munzig told the BBC.

"He swam straight over to the German glass, climbed in and even put a lid on top once he was sitting inside."

While this does seem like an insane way to bet your money, Paul the octopus did called Germany’s loss to Serbia in the second game of the tournament, which would have made any followers a pretty penny.

Who are we to argue with nature?

Pick: Germany

Argentina (-277) vs. Mexico (+440, 2.5)

Argentina knows it has a target on its back when it faces Mexico in the Round of 16 Sunday. The Argentines eliminated the Mexicans in the same round back in 2006, taking a 2-1 victory in the knockout stage.

“We're going to respect them, but Mexico will have to know that we will also have to respect ourselves on the pitch,” manager Diego Maradona told the media. “We know that we face a difficult game, but with the team we have, with the players we have, we can go on to the next round.”

Maradona has put the emphasis on his defense and midfield play despite Argentina taking a maximum of nine points in group play, scoring seven total goals and leading the World Cup in shots on goal.

Argentina expects a similar cautious plan from Mexico, which has lost to the Argentines in seven of their last 11 meetings.

“They're going to stay back and seek counterattacks,” midfielder Maxi Rodriguez told reporters.

With both teams waiting for the other to slip up, this should be a low-scoring contest that plays under the 2.5-goal total.

WNBA NEWS AND NOTES

Betting on the WNBA might sound like some sort of a joke. You almost definitely don’t watch the WNBA, you probably couldn’t name a single player in the league, and chances are that even if you do watch women’s basketball, you pay a lot more attention to college basketball – most fans seem to find the University of Connecticut a lot more interesting than the Connecticut Sun.

Usually, all these facts would add up to a sport that you should avoid gambling on at all costs. And, appropriately, almost nobody bets on the WNBA, meaning there isn’t the volume of action you’ll find on almost any other sport. But believe it or not, this actually makes betting on the WNBA a very attractive prospect for sharp bettors. Since the public isn’t betting much money on the sport, the bookmakers don’t have much interest in spending a lot of time setting lines. This adds up to very exploitable lines that can earn you big profits, if you know where to look.

One of the simplest WNBA betting tips is to watch how the lines are moving in the days and hours before a game begins. In most sports, this is a losing strategy.

Typically, all that a moving line tells you is how the public is betting and the oddsmakers are reacting. By the time you jump on the line, it’s probably already past the point where that bet would have been profitable.

But things are different in the WNBA. Because only sharp bettors (for the most part) are betting on the WNBA, when lines move, it’s because people who know what they’re doing have seen that a line is off. Because the sportsbooks aren’t paying as close attention to the WNBA as they do to most other sports, they’re slow to change lines. When they do, they rarely change the lines fast enough to keep up with the advantages that sharp bettors see. If a line is off by 4 or 5 points, and the bookmakers move it in the right direction by 2 points, there’s still a huge edge for a gambler who jumps on the sharp side of the bet. Because of this, when a line moves in the WNBA, it’s usually a sign that there’s a winning train you should hop on.

Following the line movements might help you win more than you lose in the WNBA, but the best way to find great bets is to study the sport. You don’t even have to figure out the whole league; becoming an expert on a single team will probably be enough to find you quite a few significant edges over the course of the WNBA season. Of course, as with any sport, the more you learn about the WNBA, the better your chances of finding sharp bets to make – and the more often you’ll be able to take advantage of your edge. The main difference is that with the WNBA, your edge over the bookmakers will grow much more quickly, since they have relatively little information to use when they set their lines.

Sports with a low public profile are usually a good investment, and the WNBA is no exception. If you put in a little work into taking advantage of this, you’ll find that the WNBA is a great place to pick up some easy profits to boost your sports betting bankroll.

LADY LUCK

Sunday's Best WNBA Bets

Los Angeles Sparks at Atlanta Dream (-9.5, 166.5)

With the team still reeling from the loss of superstar forward Candace Parker, the Los Angeles Sparks will be without another key member until late in the summer.

Veteran guard Betty Lennox is expected to be out until August while she recovers from knee surgery, the team announced earlier this week.

Lennox, who is averaging just under five points, brings a ton of experience and leadership to the lineup but has been bothered by a torn meniscus. So much so, this is the first season in which the 2004 Finals MVP has not averaged double figures in scoring.

Los Angeles has now lost back-to-back games without Parker and now must face the top team in the Eastern Conference on the road. The Sparks have scored an average of 64 points without Parker – 12 point less than their season average – and played to the under in the last two games.

Pick: Under

Phoenix Mercury at Washington Mystics (-3,172.5)

Mercury star Diana Taurasi is feeling a bit run down just two months into the season.

After playing overseas, dealing with injury and with plans to play in the World Championship later this year, Taurasi isn't focusing on Phoenix until she can catch her breath.

"You have to (take a break). There is no way your body is going to be able to function at that level for that long without getting it some time to rest," she told the Hartford Courant. "You are doing your career a disservice, in the long run, by continuing to play if you are hurt and tired."

Taurasi didn’t indicate when she would be sitting out and told the media she would need a closer look at the schedule. While that break won’t come against the Mystics this weekend, bettors must question Taurasi's focus and dedication to the WNBA franchise.

Pick: Washington Mystics

Hondo

Hondo, still fired up about his Astronomical score Friday night, knocked another chunk off the deficit in The Big Citi yesterday when the American Idle did a number on the Metamucils to lower the flabby fig ure to 855 lemongellos.

Today, he expects Niese to make nice and muzzle Minny -- 10 units on the Mets. Also, he'll take a shot with Roy Harvey Oswalt -- 10 units on the 'Stros.
